The 'Mannum to Wellington Local Action Planning Committee Inc.' was established in 1996 as an outcome of the River Murray Water Resources Committee's 'Border to the Barrages' report recommendations and with the support of the Murray Darling Basin Commission.
The Management Committee is broadly representative of the community in the Mannum to Wellington area. It has links to a wide cross section of groups such as: the three local councils, regional development and tourism boards, government and private irrigation boards and trusts, Landcare groups, wetland groups, service clubs, schools, the Murray Darling Association, the River Murray Catchment Water Management Board and industry groups. Membership of the Mannum to Wellington Local Action Planning Association is open to anyone who wants to help achieve the Association's vision.
